I hope everyone is enjoying a happy, healthy 2007. Be sure to make time to relax with family and friends. Life's too short to work too hard! Here’s the latest - I left the cast of LA’s longest-running show, “Menopause The Musical” last year after a year of singing and dancing and having a blast with 3 wonderful, talented women. It was hard to go and I’ll miss the fun but it was time to move on. Especially now that my CD is finished! “Don’t Say You Don’t Remember Beverly Bremers” is out and available right here on this very website, as well as www.amazon.com and www.cdbaby.com. It’s a compilation of songs I recorded in the past and present including, of course, “Don’t Say You Don’t Remember”. I wrote all the songs, except “Don’t”, and produced the whole project with my friend, Hal Ratliff. I’m very excited and proud of it. I hope to start doing concerts in the near future, so if you know someone in your area who has need of a performer, have them contact me. I’m ready to rock! So far this year, I have performed at the Champagne Pops Concert Series in My Ditech.com radio spots are still running nationally, as well as my guest appearance on the Cartoon Network show, "Cow and Chicken" and other local spots for Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Larry H. Parker, Taco Bell, and Honda. My records/CDs continue to be available on Ebay and Amazon.com, under my name and my kid-recording-name of Beverly Ann, as part of the Northern Soul phenomenon. For those of you who never heard of Northern Soul, I will explain, since I just recently learned about this strange phenomenon myself. Back in the early 70's, a couple of Brits came to the U.S. and, while browsing through the bins at the record stores, discovered obscure recordings from the 50's and 60's that they loved. Some were by well-known artists, other completely unknown. What they all had in common was that they were not big sellers, just good music. They brought these records home and began playing them in local clubs. Others fell in love with the records, all of which had lots of soul and a great beat to dance to. Soon the news spread and fan clubs were formed, special DJs emerged, fan clubs held monthly events, and it became a new rage dubbed NORTHERN SOUL. This has continued up to the present and is still going strong! Many of the artists are totally unaware of this phenomenon and those of us who have discovered it are quite astounded and thrilled. How do I fit in? When I was a teenager, I had recorded 2 songs under the name Beverly Ann - "You've Got Your Mind On Other Things" and "He's Coming Home" (to hear them, go to my DISCOGRAPHY). This got my feet wet in the business and until now, I had forgotten all about them. These are big "hits" with the NS crowd! The "B" side of my legit hit, "Don't Say You Don't Remember", called "Get Smart, Girl", is also a favorite. Who knew? Life is full of surprises! For more info, just type in NORTHERN SOUL in a search engine. Well, that's it for now. I hope to complete my SCRAPBOOK in the near future,
so check in with me soon. Beverly |
